Since 1998 he has focused on the study of cultural performances and the connections with tourism, showing the local appropriation of the categories of identity, memories and past, tradition (authenticity) and sense of belonging. He had conduct research recently on re-enactment history as touristic events. And finally, he is beginning a new trend of research interests on migration, focusing on sex work and sexual tourism.
