I studied sociology at the University of Bielefeld/Germany and at ISCTE Lisbon, worked as a researcher in the UNEMPOL project at University of Bamberg 2001-2004 and as a researcher and lecturer at the Centre for Social Policy Research/ University of Bremen 2006-2008. My PhD was on the subject of representation of ‘the unemployed’s interests’ in the public discourse. I am working in the Research Group: Civil Society, Citizenship, and Political Mobilization in Europe at WZB since August 2008.
